Three brothers get 10-year jail term in Madhapur murder case

Hyderabad: A court in Cyberabad sentenced three brothers to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in the Madhapur murder case involving the killing of their sibling in 2016.

The VI Additional District and Sessions Court in Kukatpally delivered the verdict on Thursday. Judge C. Pavani presided over the case.

The court convicted Mahendra Prasad Mishra, Dharmendra Prasad Mishra and Birendra Prasad Mishra under Sections 302 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code.

The case was registered at Madhapur Police Station under the Cyberabad police jurisdiction.

According to investigators, the Madhapur murder case dates back to November 18, 2016.

Police said a quarrel broke out among four brothers who were living in a rented room at Siddiqnagar in Madhapur.

Madhapur murder case began with family quarrel

Neighbours and the house owner heard loud disturbances from the room. They then forced open the door to check the situation.

Inside, they found Devendra Prasad Mishra lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries to his throat.

Police later determined that the victim had been attacked by his three brothers.

Investigators said the accused used a knife and a window glass plank during the assault.

The injuries proved fatal, and Devendra Prasad Mishra died on the spot.

After the incident, police arrested the accused and began a detailed investigation into the Madhapur murder case.

Following the trial, the court found all three brothers guilty.

The judge sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on each convict.
