Hyderabad: A poultry transport lorry overturned near Dahegaon X Road in Bela mandal of Adilabad district, killing an estimated 3,000 chickens and causing losses pegged at ₹15 lakh.
The accident occurred on the inter-state highway while the vehicle was heading toward Latur, Maharashtra. The lorry reportedly lost control and flipped over.
Authorities used earthmovers to dig pits and bury the dead poultry locally to prevent health hazards.
The lorry was carrying close to 8 tonnes of broiler chickens at the time of the mishap.
