Hyderabad: With the inflow increasing into the LMD (Lower Manair Dam) in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district, SRSP (Sri Ram Sagar Project) officials lifted two gates of the reservoir on Wednesday to release water downstream.
Water released as reservoir reaches full level
Officials said heavy inflows from the ayacut and catchment areas had filled the reservoir to its full capacity. Therefore, they lifted two gates to regulate water levels safely. They added that the outflow would continue based on the inflow received in the coming hours.
Residents, farmers urged to stay cautious
Authorities appealed to people living along the riverbanks, including farmers and shepherds, to remain alert. Moreover, they advised residents to avoid entering the river or venturing near low-lying areas until the water discharge stabilises.
