HYDERABAD: An unusual incident involving the Tahsildar office in Rajapur mandal of Mahbubnagar district has come to light. According to reports, a landlord locked the Tahsildar office after rent payments had been pending for several months. The office was operating from a rented building, and officials had failed to pay the rent for a prolonged period.
Local sources revealed that the landlord was entirely dependent on the rental income for his livelihood. Due to the continued non-payment of rent, he faced severe financial difficulties. In desperation, he locked the door of the Tahsildar office and informed the authorities about his action. The incident has exposed the local administration’s negligence.
It is reported that the landlord had repeatedly lodged complaints, both in writing and verbally, regarding the non-payment of rent, but no action was taken. Left with no other option, he finally decided to lock the office premises.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the concerned officials arrived at the scene and held discussions with the landlord. The staff of the Tahsildar office assured him that the pending rent would be paid promptly to ensure that the office’s functioning would not be disrupted.
The local public expressed surprise over the incident and urged the government to address such matters seriously in order to preserve the dignity of government offices.
