Land dispute leads to brutal killing of half-brother in Mahabubabad

Hyderabad: A man was murdered by his half-brothers in broad daylight in Mahabubabad district, following a long-standing property dispute.

The incident occurred in Sirol mandal headquarters, where Krishna, the son of Vallapu Lingayya’s first wife, was attacked while on his way to an agricultural well. He was allegedly intercepted by Mahesh and Suresh, sons of Lingayya’s second wife.

According to local police, the assailants stabbed Krishna with a knife and assaulted him with sticks, killing him on the spot. When their father tried to intervene, he too was attacked with a knife and sustained injuries. He was shifted to hospital for treatment.

The murder has triggered shock in the district. Preliminary information suggests the brothers had been in conflict for years over division of land.
