Hyderabad: The annual Lal Darwaza Bonalu festival, also known as Ashada Bonalu, commenced with ceremonial fervour as devotees offered the traditional ‘Kummari Bonam’ to Simhavahini Mahakali in the early hours of Sunday.
Four dedicated queue lines, including a special corridor for devotees carrying Bonalu, were set up around the temple to manage the expected influx.
Security arrangements were bolstered with a deployment of 1,200 police personnel and ten SHE Teams to monitor the area. Two medical camps were also installed to address emergencies and ensure crowd safety.
Large numbers of devotees continued to arrive at the temple throughout the day for darshan of the deity.
