KTR throws resignation challenge over loan claims

Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR threw a resignation challenge in the Assembly over the government’s claim on loans to women self-help groups.

The confrontation followed Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s statement that the government had sanctioned ₹57,000 crore in loans to women groups.

KTR rejected the claim and demanded proof on the floor of the House. He asked the government to produce the official order supporting the आंकड़ा.

KTR challenges loan claims in Assembly

He said he would resign as MLA if the government produced the order immediately. At the same time, he asked whether the Deputy Chief Minister would resign if the claim proved false.

The challenge triggered heated exchanges between treasury and opposition benches. Members from both sides engaged in sharp arguments during the session.

KTR alleged that the government was misleading the public on financial data. He said the figures presented in the House lacked credibility.

The debate intensified as both sides defended their positions on the loan figures.
