Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR questioned the Congress government over unfulfilled guarantees during a debate on the Governor’s address in the Assembly.
KTR said the government must honour promises made to the people. He also stressed that the Governor’s address and the President’s address in Parliament should carry credibility.
He then asked who should thank the government and for what. Farmers, widows, the older people, and unemployed youth, he said, had not received promised benefits.
KTR raises questions on guarantees and governance
During the debate, he criticised the delay in implementing six guarantees. He also asked what happened to the assurance of granting them legal backing in the first Cabinet meeting.
Raising another issue, KTR questioned the fate of the first file signed by the Chief Minister after assuming office. He demanded clarity and, meanwhile, called for a SIT probe.
He further alleged that the government reduced the value of public assets and failed to honour commitments. According to him, guarantees hold no value without implementation.
KTR also questioned the delay in providing ₹2,500 assistance to women. In addition, he asked about the promised job calendar for unemployed youth.
He criticised poor food quality in gurukuls and flagged gaps in welfare delivery. At the same time, he said the government showed negligence in implementing schemes.
Referring to the previous regime, KTR asked whether the government had denied ration cards earlier. He also criticised repeated claims by the Congress and urged it to stop allegations and focus on governance.
