Konda Surekha inspects Ananya Resort, flags poor maintenance

Hyderabad: Forest Minister Konda Surekha conducted an Ananya Resort inspection at Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park in Vanasthalipuram and expressed serious concern over poor maintenance and missing basic amenities.

The Minister carried out a surprise visit to the resort and reviewed the condition of the facilities on the premises. During the inspection, she expressed dissatisfaction with the property’s upkeep and questioned management about the lack of essential services for visitors.

Officials informed the Minister that a private company had been managing the resort for nearly a decade. However, Konda Surekha said the Forest Department would take back control of the land from the private entity within the next two months to redevelop the facility.

She also reviewed the financial and administrative aspects of the resort’s operations. According to officials, the private management had reportedly paid taxes to the government only once during the past ten years.

Ananya Resort inspection reveals lapses in facilities

During the Ananya Resort inspection, the Minister highlighted several shortcomings in the infrastructure and maintenance of the property. She expressed concern about the condition of restrooms, the swimming pool, cottages, and the kitchen area.

In addition, she raised questions about staff welfare. Officials informed her that salaries had not been paid to the resort employees, which drew sharp criticism from the Minister.

Konda Surekha directed officials to prepare plans for improving facilities once the Forest Department resumes control. She emphasised that the resort, located inside the Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park, must maintain proper standards to serve visitors and support eco-tourism initiatives.
