Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urges builders to drive infra growth

Hyderabad: Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urged builders to play a direct role in accelerating infrastructure growth, stating that nearly ₹1 lakh crore worth of works are currently underway across Telangana.

He addressed the National Managing Committee and General Council Meeting 2025–26 organised by the Builders Association of India. During his speech, he said the government has accorded top priority to quality in road and building construction.

He stated that the State is progressing under a Vision 2047 roadmap led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Infrastructure, he said, remains the backbone of economic development and long-term investment.

He told builders that while governments frame policies and allocate budgets, the construction sector executes projects on the ground. Roads ease travel, bridges cut distances and public buildings provide access to essential services, he added.

The minister said strong infrastructure attracts investment and supports industrial expansion. Therefore, the government has undertaken large-scale works in the Roads and Buildings sector across the State.

He said ongoing projects include Hybrid Annuity Model schemes, expansion of National and State Highways, flyovers and railway overbridges. In addition, work on the Regional Ring Road is progressing steadily.

He described the Regional Ring Road as a transformative project for Telangana. It will reduce traffic pressure around Hyderabad and open new development corridors in surrounding districts. Consequently, he noted, it will strengthen economic connectivity and regional growth.

He urged builders to work closely with the government and become active stakeholders in the State’s development trajectory.
