Kodad bus collision leaves 16 injured on NH 65

Hyderabad: A Kodad bus accident left 16 people injured after a private travel bus rammed a truck from behind on the Kodad bypass on National Highway 65 in the early hours of Saturday.

The injured were shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kodad in Suryapet district. The bus had been travelling from Hyderabad to Eluru in Andhra Pradesh. At the time of the crash, about 36 passengers were on board.

According to reports, the driver lost control of the bus before it hit the truck. Soon after the collision, local residents reached the spot and helped the injured. They then assisted in moving the victims to the hospital for treatment.

Kodad bus accident occurred on Hyderabad-Eluru route

The Kodad bus accident took place while the private travel bus was heading towards Eluru from Hyderabad. Officials had not yet released the identities of the injured. However, all 16 injured passengers were taken to the government hospital in Kodad.

Preliminary reports said the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. However, that version remained unverified. The reported cause had not yet been officially confirmed.

The impact occurred at the Kodad bypass on NH 65, a busy highway stretch that connects Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the crash disrupted the journey of the passengers on board. Local residents responded quickly and played a key role in the rescue effort immediately after the collision.
