Khammam ganja racket busted with Rs.13.4 lakh seizure

Hyderabad: The Khammam ganja racket was busted after EAGLE Force Telangana, along with Dornakal police, seized 26.8 kg of ganja worth about ₹13.4 lakh and arrested four persons.

The operation followed specific intelligence inputs on inter-state drug movement. Accordingly, officials intercepted a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle and a Maruti Ertiga car near Dornakal.

During the search, police found 17 packets of ganja concealed in three bags. The seizure formed a key part of efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the region.

Khammam ganja racket busted in inter-state drug operation

Police identified the accused as Chandrasekhar, Vijay Kanth, Vinod and Shashikanth. Investigators said they procured the contraband from a supplier in Odisha and transported it from Bhadrachalam to Hyderabad via Yellandu.

In addition to the narcotics, officials seized two vehicles, four mobile phones and packing materials. Subsequently, they handed over the accused and seized property to Dornakal Police Station for further legal action.

Meanwhile, police launched efforts to trace another accused, identified as Vaskula Raju, who remains absconding. Teams are working to establish the wider network linked to the Khammam ganja racket.

Authorities urged citizens to remain alert and report drug-related activities through official channels, including the EAGLE helpline. They said all information would remain confidential and credible informants would receive rewards.

Officials reiterated their appeal for public cooperation to curb drug trafficking and maintain vigilance across the state.
