Karnan inspects Indira Park, orders waste removal

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan conducted an Indira Park inspection on Monday and directed officials to remove construction and demolition waste and improve the park’s infrastructure.

The surprise visit took place as part of the State government’s “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” initiative. During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed sanitation conditions and assessed the overall state of facilities at the park.

Karnan instructed officials to immediately clear the accumulated construction and demolition (C&D) waste within the park premises. He said the waste removal must be completed without delay to ensure a cleaner environment for visitors.

The Commissioner also reviewed the condition of the children’s play area inside the park. He directed officials to take up necessary repair works and restore the play area so that it becomes functional at the earliest.

Indira Park inspection highlights sanitation and repair needs

During the Indira Park inspection, Karnan emphasised the need to maintain the park in a clean and visitor-friendly condition. He instructed officials to strengthen maintenance measures so that public spaces remain safe and accessible.

The Commissioner also asked departments to regularly monitor sanitation and infrastructure within the park. He said improved upkeep would enhance the experience for families and visitors who use the park for recreation.

Additional Commissioner Ravi Kiran, Zonal Commissioner Mangathayaru, and Kavadiguda Deputy Commissioner Pushpalatha were present during the visit. Officials from the Urban Biodiversity (UBD) and Solid Waste Management (SWM) wings also accompanied the inspection.
