Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender demanded justice for Bhoodan land victims on Saturday, accusing the Telangana government of turning into a “government of demolition” instead of a welfare administration.
After inspecting Bhoodan lands in Velugumatla and meeting families affected by recent demolitions, he alleged that the Congress government targeted the poor. He questioned the legal basis for the demolition exercise and sought clarity on 62 acres of Bhoodan land in survey numbers 147, 148 and 149.
The MP said Bhoodan land victims deserved transparency and protection. Therefore, he demanded that the government disclose full details of ownership and land status before proceeding with any further action.
Bhoodan land victims seek clarity on 62 acres
Referring to the Bhoodan movement led by Vinoba Bhave, Rajender said the lands were donated for the welfare of the poor. He asserted that such lands should not be taken away from beneficiaries. However, he alleged that rising property values had prompted the government to eye the land.
According to him, Bhoodan land victims were now facing uncertainty due to the demolitions. He said the administration must explain under what authority the structures were removed.
Targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Rajender demanded an unconditional apology. He also called for the immediate release of complete details of all Bhoodan lands in the district.
Bhoodan land victims demand immediate relief
The BJP leader urged the government to provide justice to Bhoodan land victims without delay. “The poor voted for you. It is a party of the poor in name only but not in deeds. The government should respond immediately and justice should be done quickly,” he said.
Furthermore, he maintained that the affected families required assurance and legal clarity. He insisted that the government must halt further demolitions until full transparency was ensured.
