Hyderabad: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inaugurated a maize procurement centre at Kollapur Market Yard under Markfed to facilitate farmers.
He said officials opened the centre in advance to avoid inconvenience during procurement. Therefore, farmers can sell their produce without delays.
Jupally assures support for farmers at procurement centre
Jupally said the government would pay a minimum support price of ₹2,400 for maize. He added that officials would ensure timely payments to farmers.
He directed officials to continue procurement without interruption. In addition, he asked them to keep tarpaulin covers ready at the market yard to protect produce.
Several public representatives attended the programme. These included Municipal Chairperson Reddy Jyothi Satyam, Vice Chairman Rahim Pasha and Market Committee Chairman Pasupula Narasimha.
Councillors Vanga Anusha, Rajashekhar Reddy, Sujatha, Borelli Mahesh, Pebbeti Shekhar and Single Window CEO Srinivas Yadav were also present. Congress leaders Vanga Rajashekhar Goud and Kiran attended the event.
