Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Eid Milap focuses on unity message

Hyderabad: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organised an Eid Milap in the city, where speakers stressed the need for unity and stronger Islamic brotherhood among Muslims.

The Eid Milap took place at the Sir Syed Conference Hall, Madina Education Centre, with participation from prominent city dignitaries. Speakers said the message of Eid-ul-Fitr called for unity while upholding faith and collective responsibility.

They noted that the current national and global situation required the community to overcome differences. Therefore, they urged Muslims to strengthen unity for progress and development.

Eid Milap highlights the need for community unity

The programme began with a Quranic reminder by City Secretary Sultan Mohiuddin. Subsequently, Dr Syed Islamuddin Mujahid delivered the welcome address and highlighted Jamaat’s tradition of organising such gatherings.

Azam Ali Baig presented the organisation’s activities in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Dr Mohammad Iftikharuddin expressed concern over youth distancing from religion and called for corrective efforts.

Maulana Taqi Raza Abedi said such gatherings remained necessary in the present context. At the same time, Iqbal Ahmed pointed to the sensitive situation faced by Muslims.

Professor Khwaja Nasiruddin said challenges required careful and informed responses. In addition, Sarfaraz Ahmed Siddiqui urged the community to use mosques as centres for unity.

Senior journalist Khalid Mulla highlighted the spread of misinformation and called for objective responses. Similarly, Wajahat Ali Khan stressed the importance of political unity.

Umar Ahmed Shafiq said the leadership needed to unite further, while Dr Mohammad Ghouse emphasised education and proper upbringing of girls.

Other speakers, including Professor Anwar Khan, Syed Zahuruddin, Syed Taqi Mousavi, Shehbaz Ali Khan, Khalil-ur-Rahman and Mir Sajjad Ali, also addressed the gathering.

In his presidential remarks, City Nazim Dr Mohammad Mubashir Ahmed said Jamaat continued to prioritise unity and address common issues. He urged cooperation from community leaders to expand service initiatives.
