Historian Jaishetty Ramanaiah passes away at 85

Hyderabad: Noted historian and retired lecturer Jaishetty Ramanaiah passed away at the age of 85 due to illness. Jaishetty Ramanaiah was known for his extensive research on Telangana’s history and heritage.

He carried out significant work on regional history, culture, and ancient temples. Moreover, he focused on documenting rural history by collecting old records and preserving them for future generations.

Jaishetty Ramanaiah remembered for contributions to Telangana history

Ramanaiah served as a history lecturer at Siddipet Government Junior and Degree College. During this period, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao studied under him as an intermediate student.

KCR expressed grief over the demise of his former teacher. In addition, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.

He recalled his association with Ramanaiah and described him as a respected mentor. Meanwhile, during the last Assembly elections, KCR visited Jagityal and met Ramanaiah at his residence to seek his blessings.

Local MLA Sanjay Kumar and former Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha also expressed condolences. Furthermore, several leaders paid tribute to Ramanaiah and acknowledged his contributions.
