Hyderabad: A 16-year-old intermediate student drowned after a two-wheeler he was riding skidded off a rural road and plunged into a farm borewell near Nambala village in Telangana’s Dandepalli mandal on Sunday.
The deceased, Rudra Vamsikrishna, had recently joined a private junior college in Hyderabad. He was home in Laksettipet on leave sanctioned by the college under a homesick category.
He set out with friends on motorcycles and was passing through the Gudem-Medaripet ring road when the accident occurred near an agricultural well.
Vamsikrishna, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle, which slipped and fell into the borewell. He drowned on the spot. His pillion rider survived with minor injuries.
The death follows the loss of Vamsikrishna’s father eight months ago, deepening the tragedy for his family. His mother, Rudra Nagamani, filed a complaint, and a case has been registered. Dandepalli SI Tahseenuddin confirmed an investigation is underway.
