Illegal bakery using rotten eggs busted in Hyderabad, three held

Hyderabad: Police busted an illegal bakery unit in Katedan and held three persons for manufacturing food items using rotten eggs and hazardous chemicals. The unit operated under the name “Madhurai Meenakshi Food Company.”

Mailardevpally Police conducted the raid and detained Afridi Ansari, 22, a supervisor from Katedan, Yaseen, 32, a manager from Indra Society, and Khatreshan from Bandlaguda in Chandrayangutta.

An illegal bakery unit used rotten eggs and harmful chemicals

Police found that the accused had prepared doughnut buns and cakes in unhygienic conditions. Moreover, they used rotten eggs and chemicals such as sodium benzoate, sorbic acid, and PGPR liquid.

Officials said the accused sold these adulterated products as genuine bakery items. As a result, the products posed serious health risks, especially to children.

During the raid, police seized spoiled eggs, chemicals, bakery products, synthetic colours, and flavours. In addition, they confiscated machinery used in the manufacturing process.

Authorities registered a case at Mailardevpally Police Station. Meanwhile, officials began further investigation into the case.
