iBOMMA Ravi bail pleas rejected by Nampally court

Hyderabad: A Nampally court on Wednesday rejected bail pleas filed by Immadhi Ravi, the operator of piracy platform iBOMMA, in five cases registered at the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station.

Ravi sought bail in all five cases. However, the prosecution strongly opposed his request. Police told the court that investigators were still examining key digital and financial evidence. They also argued that Ravi held foreign citizenship and could leave the country if the court granted bail.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court dismissed all five bail petitions.

Meanwhile, investigators uncovered fresh details in the piracy case linked to iBOMMA Ravi. Police found that he earned ₹13.40 crore through the illegal streaming of pirated films.

During the probe, officials detected deliberate tax evasion. Investigators traced ₹90 lakh from the illegal earnings to Ravi’s sister’s bank account. Police said he made the transfer to hide income and avoid tax liability.

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police stated that teams continued to analyse financial records, transaction trails, and seized digital devices as part of the ongoing investigation.
