Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Saturday issued a HYDRAA ULC layouts clarification, stating that it will not interfere with residential houses or vacant plots in old layouts formed on Urban Land Ceiling lands.
The agency said it would not take action against unregularised vacant plots in such layouts. It also cautioned citizens against false claims by encroachers who misuse HYDRAA’s name to occupy these plots.
Officials advised people to approach the agency directly for any clarification. Moreover, they urged citizens not to rely on unverified information regarding land action.
HYDRAA ULC layouts clarification on public spaces
HYDRAA said its focus remains on protecting public-use areas such as roads, parks and spaces earmarked for community needs. It added that these actions are based on approved layout plans.
The agency reiterated that structures existing before July 19, 2024, would not be demolished. It said this approach aligns with the government’s policy framework.
Recent operations in Kondapur under Serilingampally Mandal reflected this policy. Officials removed encroachments only from parks, roads and designated public spaces in layouts such as Rajarajeshwari Nagar, OU Colony and Raghavendra Colony.
Similarly, in Hydernagar, officials cleared encroachments to protect park land in Gopal Nagar layout. Therefore, the agency said its actions target only violations affecting public spaces.
HYDRAA also warned citizens against misleading propaganda. It said such claims falsely suggest that unregularised plots will be seized and handed over to the government.
Officials added that such misinformation is often spread to acquire land at lower prices through deception. They urged the public to remain cautious and verify facts before making decisions.
