Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) safeguarded 12.17 acres of government land in Gandanguda village of Gandipet Mandal in Rangareddy district after residents raised complaints over encroachment.
Officials fenced the land located in Survey No. 43 on Friday to secure it from further occupation. The same survey number contains a total of 26 acres of government land. Earlier, authorities allotted one acre for an electricity substation and nine acres for waste dumping by the GHMC.
HYDRAA acts on Prajavani complaints
Meanwhile, residents approached HYDRAA Prajavani and reported that encroachers were gradually occupying the remaining government land. Following these complaints, officials, along with concerned department authorities, carried out a field-level inspection.
The inspection followed instructions from HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath. After confirming government ownership, officials erected fencing to prevent future encroachments.
Although a temple and a mosque already existed on the site, HYDRAA protected both structures during the operation. Officials fenced only the surrounding government land and installed boards declaring the property as government-owned.
