Hyderabad Youth Drowns in Puri While Taking Selfie

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man from Hyderabad drowned in the Jagannath Puri Sea, Odisha, on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3 PM when strong waves swept him away as he tried to take a selfie.

The victim, Vikas, lived in Janaki Nagar, Langer House, Hyderabad. He had gone to Puri on a pilgrimage on August 20 with his wife Shalini, their one-year-old son, and family friends.

Vikas entered the sea for a photo, but a powerful wave knocked him over and pulled him into deeper waters. His wife and others witnessed the tragedy unfold. Local police and rescue teams launched a search operation immediately, but his body was yet to be recovered by the time of reporting.
