Hyderabad: A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Hyderabad on Monday when two young brothers were struck and killed by a speeding train while collecting grass for their goats ahead of Bakrid. The accident happened near Yakutpura railway station under Rain Bazar Police Station’s jurisdiction, leaving the local community in deep mourning.
The victims, identified as Shabuddin, 26, and Faizan, 21, both from the Rain Bazar area, had gone out to gather fodder for their Bakrid goats. Police said they were so focused on collecting grass that they didn’t notice the train barreling toward them. They died on the spot.
Rein Bazar police arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The sudden loss has shaken the community. Yakutpura MLA Jaffer Meraj Hussain visited the grieving family and offered his condolences.
