HYDERABAD: In a unique effort to promote road safety, Hyderabad’s Begumpet Traffic Police launched an innovative awareness campaign featuring mythological characters to educate motorists about traffic rules.
Organised in collaboration with Nippon Company, the event took place at the Begumpet junction, where individuals dressed as Yamraj and Chitragupta — deities associated with death and judgment in Hindu mythology — engaged with drivers and riders, emphasising the importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts.
The performers warned that driving under the influence or at excessive speeds could have fatal consequences. Their dramatic presence drew attention and helped convey the message in an impactful way.
The event was attended by ACP Venkateshwarlu of the Begumpet Traffic Training Institute, Circle Inspector Ramchander, and Sudhir Nair, Hyderabad Branch Head of Nippon Company.
