Hyderabad: A 16-year-old intermediate student died after falling under the wheels of an RTC bus in Jagadgirigutta police station limits on Monday. The incident occurred as the student, identified as Sreeja, was boarding a bus to SR Sri Gayatri College in Kukatpally.
According to police, Sreeja lost her footing while getting onto the bus and slipped under the rear wheels. She died on the spot. The accident caused a temporary traffic jam on the road.
Jagadgirigutta police arrived at the scene, registered a case, and launched an investigation.
Family members broke down when they heard the news. Sreeja had left for college like any other day but never came back. Relatives described her as cheerful and full of life, raised with care.
Hyderabad’s roads continue to claim lives. Officials citing rash driving, negligence, and drunk driving as key causes. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and accountability on the roads.
