Hyderabad police conduct midnight mobilisation drill at Masab Tank

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police conducted a midnight mobilisation drill at Masab Tank on Tuesday night to test emergency response and deployment readiness.

About 650 personnel participated in the exercise at the Hockey Grounds under the jurisdiction of the Golconda Zone. The mobilisation drill took place under the supervision of Golconda Zone DCP G. Chandra Mohan.

The programme followed instructions from Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar to strengthen the force’s preparedness during emergencies. Personnel from all police stations under the Golconda Zone took part in the drill.

Officials said the mobilisation drill involved staff ranging from Home Guards to officers of Assistant Commissioner of Police rank.

Mobilisation drill tests police emergency response

During the exercise, teams conducted a mock drill to check how quickly personnel could reach a designated location during an emergency. The activity focused on improving response time and coordination.

Meanwhile, officers briefed personnel on their responsibilities during critical situations. They also explained how each unit should function under the direction of senior officials.

Additionally, teams inspected the availability and working condition of emergency equipment. These included public address systems, riot gear, and other field equipment required during law-and-order situations.

DCP G. Chandra Mohan personally inspected the arrangements and monitored personnel alertness at the Hockey Grounds. She also reviewed the readiness of the police force during the late-night exercise.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCP said public safety remained the primary duty of the police. She added that such mobilisation drills strengthened preparedness and ensured quicker response during emergencies.

She also appreciated the efforts of Golconda Zone police personnel in maintaining law and order. Furthermore, she encouraged them to continue performing effectively and meet public expectations.
