Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail services were briefly disrupted on Monday evening following heavy rains and strong winds that led to a foreign object falling onto the overhead power supply line between Khairatabad and Erram Manzil stations.
L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail confirmed the incident through an official update, stating that the impact affected train movement on that stretch. In response, metro authorities immediately activated contingency measures and resumed services under a single-line operation to minimise commuter inconvenience.
Efforts are currently underway to fully restore normal two-line operations. Technical teams have been deployed to the affected section to remove the obstruction and repair the damaged overhead equipment.
Despite the disruption, services across other parts of the metro network remain unaffected. L&T Metro Rail thanked passengers for their patience and assured that full restoration would be completed at the earliest.
The incident comes amid a spell of unseasonal weather in the city, which has caused localised damage and traffic disruptions in multiple areas.
