Light rains and gusty winds bring brief relief to Hyderabad under trough influence

HYDERABAD: Several parts of Greater Hyderabad experienced light showers accompanied by gusty winds on Sunday, as a surface trough influenced the region’s weather patterns. The sudden change in conditions brought momentary relief from the summer heat, though humidity levels remained moderate.

According to officials at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, the trough-induced activity is expected to continue over the next two days. They have forecast isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall across various localities of the city.

Sunday’s temperature data revealed a maximum of 35.2°C and a minimum of 25.0°C, with relative humidity levels recorded at 48 percent. Though not intense, the scattered rainfall helped cool the atmosphere briefly in areas that received showers.

Weather experts advise residents to remain cautious during evening hours when thundercloud activity tends to peak. Commuters are also urged to plan travel with the possibility of brief but sharp weather shifts in mind.

The city has seen intermittent weather fluctuations over the past week, and the current conditions suggest that the trend may continue as the season transitions.
