Hyderabad: Telangana proposed a Hyderabad-Jakarta tech corridor to facilitate exchange of technical skills and deepen digital cooperation with Indonesia, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said.
The Minister met Indonesia’s Vice Minister for Communications and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. During the meeting, both sides discussed digital partnership, skill development and startup collaboration. They also reviewed talent exchange and technology innovation.
Nezar Patria urged Telangana to lead the Hyderabad-Jakarta tech corridor initiative. He sought technical support for Indonesia’s National Digital Roadmap. He also invited collaboration to strengthen Indonesia’s startup ecosystem.
Sridhar Babu responded positively. He assured that Telangana would support Indonesia’s digital transformation. Moreover, he said the state would align its tech talent with Indonesia’s requirements. He added that Telangana would cooperate in framing ethical AI policies.

Addressing global advisory firms and AI safety experts, the Minister said AI safety is not a barrier to innovation. Instead, he described it as the aerodynamics of the 21st century. However, he cautioned that growth without safeguards can damage public trust.
He said Hyderabad’s $80 billion economy draws strength from technology professionals. Therefore, Telangana now stands at a stage similar to Shenzhen in the 1980s. He noted that Shenzhen later grew into a $500 billion economic hub.
The Minister set a target to build a $1 trillion economy by 2035. He also projected a $3 trillion economy by 2047 through AI-led growth. Meanwhile, the state plans to deliver over 300 government services through an integrated digital platform by 2027.
He said the government is investing $15 billion in future-focused initiatives. These include the Musi river rejuvenation and the Young India Skills University. Furthermore, he asserted that Global South nations are shaping AI safety standards in real time.
At a separate roundtable with US-India Business Council representatives, Sridhar Babu highlighted investment opportunities in Telangana. He said the state promotes public-private partnerships with global technology firms.
