Hyderabad: Officials said the Hyderabad fuel panic debunked claims were baseless and confirmed that petrol and diesel stocks would last for 60 days.

City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and District Collector Harichandana Dasari issued the clarification amid rumours of fuel shortage in the city.

They urged citizens not to believe misinformation circulating on social media. They also said there was no disruption in fuel supply across Hyderabad.

Officials said panic buying, triggered by fake news, led to long queues at petrol bunks. However, they stressed that supply remained stable.

They confirmed that Telangana had sufficient reserves to meet demand for up to 60 days. Therefore, there was no need for panic among the public.

Police said they were closely monitoring social media platforms to curb the spread of false information. They added that strict action would be taken against those creating artificial shortages.

Authorities said the situation was under continuous review at all 186 petrol bunks in Hyderabad. Moreover, they said fuel availability remained adequate across the city.

Officials reiterated that supply chains were functioning without interruption. As a result, petrol and diesel continued to reach retail outlets regularly.

They urged citizens to avoid panic buying and act responsibly. At the same time, they warned that spreading rumours could invite legal action.

The administration said coordinated efforts between police and district officials ensured smooth distribution. It also said the focus remained on maintaining steady supply and public confidence.
