HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the High Court Judges Transfer for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, aiming to enhance the efficiency and balance of the judiciary across the country. The decision was approved on 10 August 2023.
Transfers from Andhra Pradesh High Court
Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana has been recommended for transfer to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Though he had requested a transfer to the Karnataka High Court, the Collegium rejected the request and reaffirmed its original proposal.
Likewise, Justice C. Manavendranath Roy has been proposed for transfer to the Gujarat High Court, despite his preference for the Telangana High Court, which was also declined by the Collegium.
Transfer from Karnataka High Court
Justice Narendra G, who was initially recommended for transfer to the Odisha High Court, will now be moved to the Andhra Pradesh High Court following a review of his request. He had expressed a preference for transfer to either Telangana, Tamil Nadu, or Andhra Pradesh.
