Helmets on, lives safe: traffic police conduct awareness drive at Nanal Nagar

Hyderabad: Traffic police conducted a Nanal Nagar traffic awareness drive on Monday, stressing strict compliance with helmet and seat belt rules to improve road safety.

The special seminar took place under the Kulsumpura Traffic Police Station in the Golconda Zone. Senior officers led the programme and addressed motorists on mandatory safety norms.

C. Venugopal Reddy, Additional DCP (Traffic, Golconda Zone), and D. Dhanalakshmi, ACP (Traffic, Golconda Zone), attended the event. They underlined that helmets are compulsory for both riders and pillion riders, including children above four years.

Nanal Nagar traffic awareness drive stresses helmet compliance

During the Nanal Nagar traffic awareness drive, officials reminded motorists that all car occupants must wear seat belts. They also cautioned drivers against overtaking from the left.

Moreover, officers instructed heavy vehicle drivers to keep to the left lane. They directed them to follow prescribed speed limits at all times.

As part of the initiative, police distributed around 15 helmets free of cost to eligible riders. The distribution took place in association with the HCSC Team and the Young India Team.

Officials said the helmet distribution aimed to encourage immediate compliance with safety norms. They urged riders to adopt protective gear as a habit rather than a response to enforcement.

Traffic Inspectors G. Venkateshwarlu of Tolichowki Traffic and M. Rajendra Prasad of Kulsumpura Traffic participated in the programme along with staff members.

The police appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules strictly. They said adherence to norms would reduce accidents and ensure safer journeys across the city.
