Heli tourism Hyderabad Srisailam circuit to launch from April 9

Hyderabad: Telangana Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Saturday announced the launch of heli tourism Hyderabad Srisailam services on the Hyderabad–Somasila–Srisailam circuit from April 9.

He said the initiative aimed to boost the state’s tourism profile and improve connectivity to key destinations. The Minister announced the plan while addressing the media at his camp office in Kollapur.

The heli tourism Hyderabad Srisailam circuit will offer aerial views of the Krishna River and the Nallamala forests. He said the experience would enhance travel by providing a panoramic perspective of the region’s natural landscape.

Officials are implementing the project in partnership with private aviation agencies. Moreover, the initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen high-end tourism infrastructure in Telangana.

Earlier, the Minister visited Somasila and inspected the helipad construction. He reviewed arrangements ahead of the service launch.

Heli tourism Hyderabad Srisailam itinerary and expansion plans

Krishna Rao said the journey will begin from Hyderabad and proceed to Somasila to cover its scenic backwaters. It will then continue to Srisailam.

Tourists will get an opportunity for boating at Somasila. In addition, they can have darshan at the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple before returning to Hyderabad on the same day.

He said the heli tourism Hyderabad Srisailam service would attract more visitors. Therefore, it would also support local economic activity and create employment for rural youth.

The Minister added that the government plans to expand heli-tourism to other destinations. These include Nagarjuna Sagar, Ramappa Temple and Nizam Sagar.

He said the expansion aligns with the state’s vision to position Telangana as a leading tourism destination nationally and globally.
