Harish Rao backs White Coat Revolution, aids 122 MBBS students

Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Tuesday backed the White Coat Revolution initiative and extended financial assistance to 122 MBBS students through the BLR Charitable Trust.

He distributed nine cheques to economically disadvantaged medical students at his residence. The assistance formed part of the broader White Coat Revolution support drive for the current academic year.

Party MLA B. Laxma Reddy attended the programme. Harish Rao said the Trust supported 122 MBBS students this year to help meet their education expenses.

He described the effort as more than a donation. According to him, the initiative represented an investment in the future health system by empowering talented youth from backward communities.

White Coat Revolution strengthens medical education

Harish Rao credited former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for expanding medical education across Telangana. He said the White Coat Revolution began with the establishment of medical colleges in every district.

He stated that the previous government strengthened public medical services through this expansion. As a result, more students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds secured opportunities in medical education.

The BRS leader said such initiatives would create a strong healthcare network in the State. He added that supporting medical students ensured long-term benefits for public health infrastructure.

Former corporators Devender Reddy and Prabhudas attended the programme. BRS leaders Praveen Mudiraj, Mahesh Goud, Vanjari Praveen, Karipe Pilli Nagaraju, Bosani Pawan Kumar, Dayakar Reddy, Sravan, Raghuvaran, Nani, Rajesh Goud and Kadige Sekhar also participated.
