The order applies to Primary, Upper Primary and High Schools. It also covers government, aided and private managements across Telangana.

Half-day schools timings announced for Telangana

Under the new schedule, schools will function from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Authorities will provide mid-day meals at 12:30 PM after the half-day schools session ends.

Meanwhile, special classes for Class X students will continue. These classes will help students prepare for the SSC Public Examination in March 2026.

However, schools that serve as SSC examination centres will follow a different schedule on exam days.

These centres will operate from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM during examinations. On other days, they will follow the half-day schools timings from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

The department also issued instructions to Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers.

Officials must inform all schools about the order. They must also monitor implementation under all managements across the state.
