Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) on Tuesday conducted an anti-drug awareness programme at Sultan-ul-Uloom Junior College, Banjara Hills, aimed at educating students about the risks of drug abuse and encouraging a drug-free lifestyle.
Addressing the students, Y.V.S. Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/H-NEW, warned students of the destructive impact of drug use on academic and personal futures. He stressed the serious legal repercussions of narcotics possession and urged them to cut ties with peer groups or environments where substance abuse is treated as normal.
Dr. Anupama Koneru, In-Charge of the college, along with the Principal and management, lauded H-NEW’s initiative. They said such programmes play a vital role in equipping students with the awareness needed to make informed choices and maintain healthy lifestyles.
H-NEW reiterated its plan to continue regular awareness drives in educational institutions across Hyderabad to protect young people and work towards a drug-free city.
Inspector S. Bala Swamy of H-NEW and his team, along with KGSS Srikanth, Joint Secretary of the Anti-Narcotic Forum, and G. Satyanarayana, Project Manager, also participated in the event.
