GWMC denies reports of sanitation vehicles strike in Warangal

Hyderabad: The Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) clarified that GWMC sanitation vehicles are operating normally across the city and denied social media claims about a strike.

Officials issued the clarification after several posts and videos circulated online suggesting garbage collection vehicles had stopped operating within the municipal limits.

According to the Office of the Commissioner, no garbage collection vehicle in Greater Warangal has gone on strike.

Officials said sanitation services across the city continue without disruption.

They also confirmed that all municipal vehicles are functioning regularly to ensure daily garbage collection and clearance.

The civic body further clarified that there is no fuel shortage affecting municipal operations.

Officials explained that the viral video likely shows vehicles waiting in line for refueling, which is a routine operational activity.

They added that if sanitation vehicles had actually stopped working, the GWMC office would have received several complaints from residents.

Corporators would also have raised the issue immediately.

However, officials said the corporation has not received any complaints regarding disruption of sanitation services since morning.

The municipal corporation advised citizens to rely only on official communication for accurate information.

Officials also urged people not to believe or share unverified social media posts.
