Revanth Reddy orders GST crackdown, dedicated call centre for taxpayers

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed commercial tax officials to step up enforcement against GST evasion, ordering strict compliance from all entities under the tax regime.

At a high-level review of the Commercial Taxes Department, Reddy instructed officials to ensure that every eligible institution pays taxes correctly and adheres to applicable regulations.

He called for the immediate setup of a dedicated call centre to address taxpayer queries and clarify compliance issues. The centre should incorporate artificial intelligence to streamline support and improve efficiency, he said.

The Chief Minister also urged a detailed study of GST and tax administration models in neighbouring states to adopt best practices.

Offices handling taxpayer services must be fully equipped to provide efficient, high-quality service, Reddy said. Senior officials from the Commercial Taxes Department attended the review.
