Hyderabad: In a long-awaited move, the state government has sanctioned one of the five pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments for its employees and pensioners. Orders to this effect were issued on Friday, granting a 3.64% hike.
With this revision, the DA component on the basic salary will rise from the existing 26.39% to 30.03%. The official word came down through Government Orders 78 and 79, signed off by Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandip Kumar Sultania.
While the revised DA is being implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2023, employees will actually see the bump reflected in their pay starting July 1, 2025. In practical terms, that means the adjustment will show up in their June salary.
Addressing the arrears, the government has clarified that the DA dues accruing from January 2023 to May 2025 will be disbursed in 28 equal instalments. Meanwhile, the DA revision due from 1 July 2023 will be processed separately and its orders will be issued after six months.
These decisions follow the resolutions passed in the recent Cabinet meeting, paving the way for Friday’s formal announcement.
