Hyderabad: Goshamahal Police arrested three persons in an online betting case after receiving credible information about illegal activities in the area.
Police caught the accused on April 3 while they were operating betting platforms through websites such as CricCode, Stake, and Future Play. Officers registered a case and launched further investigation.
The accused include Anurag Ramawat (22), a student from Karmanghat, originally from Bikaner in Rajasthan. The other two are Dhawal Khatri (22), a businessman from Gowliguda, and Krishna (21), a student from Puranapool.
During the operation, police seized three mobile phones, including an iPhone 17, an iPhone 15 Pro, and an Oppo Reno 2F. Investigators said the devices played a role in the betting activity.

Further, police said the accused used online platforms to engage in illegal betting. Therefore, teams intensified efforts to track similar activities in the city.
Meanwhile, officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against players, organisers, and promoters involved in such offences. They said cyber monitoring would continue to identify violators.
In addition, police urged parents to monitor their children’s online activities and counsel them about risks and legal consequences. They also asked the public to share information about illegal betting operations.
Senior officers supervised the operation, including DCP Golconda Zone Chandra Mohan and ACP Goshamahal S Sudharshan. Police personnel from Goshamahal station assisted in the operation.
The investigation remains ongoing as police examine further links in the case.
