HYDERABAD: A goods train derailed near Jayampu in Balayapalli mandal of Tirupati district in the early hours of Saturday after colliding with buffaloes that had strayed onto the tracks.
The train, which was en route to Gudur, struck the animals near Jayampu, leading to the derailment. Several buffaloes died in the incident. Following the derailment, the train remained halted at the location for about an hour and a half.
Upon receiving information, railway personnel rushed to the scene and initiated restoration efforts. After successfully re-railing the affected bogie, the train resumed its journey.
