Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will conduct ‘Property Tax Parishkaram’ on all Sundays in March 2026 to fast-track resolution of property tax grievances across the city.
According to a circular issued by GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, the Property Tax Parishkaram will take place on March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The sessions will run from 10 am to 1 pm at all circle offices.
Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Municipal Commissioners, Valuation Officers and Tax Inspectors will attend the programme and directly receive complaints. They will also resolve grievances on the spot to speed up disposal.
Property Tax Parishkaram to address revisions and arrears
The initiative aims to speed up disposal of revision petitions and correct property tax assessments. It will also update payments made through bill collectors, RTGS and online modes.
In addition, officials will rectify arrears and address IGRS-related matters. They will handle self-assessment issues and settle court cases as per rules. Therefore, the Property Tax Parishkaram will help reduce long-pending disputes.
GHMC will set up three dedicated counters at each centre with computers, internet connectivity and printers. Staff at a reception desk will guide taxpayers and streamline submissions.
Officials must prioritise long-pending revision petitions and carry out online corrections within delegated powers. Meanwhile, Zonal and Deputy Commissioners will monitor adherence to timelines and ensure prompt action.
Officers will submit daily reports to the Revenue Wing through a centralised monitoring system. The Corporation warned that undue delays may invite disciplinary action.
Property Tax Parishkaram to support OTS scheme
Officials will give special attention to legal cases during the drive. They encouraged petitioners to attend the Property Tax Parishkaram and seek resolution in line with court orders and statutory provisions.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner urged citizens to clear pending dues without delay. He highlighted the Government’s One Time Settlement scheme for 2025–26, which offers a 90 per cent waiver on accumulated interest on old arrears.
He further appealed to taxpayers to utilise the opportunity early and contribute to the city’s development.
