Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded its highest-ever property tax collection, crossing ₹2,500 crore in the financial year 2025–26.
The civic body collected ₹2,501.25 crore as of 8 pm on March 31. This marked the first time it breached the ₹2,500 crore mark.
During the year, GHMC collected ₹962.82 crore. Meanwhile, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) circles contributed ₹986.03 crore and ₹552.40 crore, respectively.
GHMC sets record in property tax collection
The corporation also saw a major boost from the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. It collected ₹548 crore under the scheme between December 4, 2025 and March 31, 2026.
Officials said taxpayers availed discounts worth ₹100.8 crore under OTS. Therefore, the scheme significantly improved collections.
In March alone, GHMC collected ₹396.41 crore. On March 31, collections reached ₹107.08 crore.
Officials attributed the record performance to coordinated efforts by tax inspectors, bill collectors and senior officers across zones. They also noted strong civic participation in achieving the milestone.
