Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan visited the mega e-waste collection drive at Baghlingampally in Circle-41 of Musheerabad and reviewed the arrangements for safe collection and disposal.
At the venue, the Commissioner checked the e-waste collection camps set up for the drive. He also reviewed the facilities created for sorting and handling discarded electronic items.
The Commissioner interacted with field staff and sanitation workers to understand ground-level operations. He asked officials about the movement of special vehicles and the functioning of collection counters.
Commissioner calls for public support in e-waste drive
Praising the efforts of sanitation teams, the Commissioner said such drives helped protect the environment and public health. He noted that proper disposal of electronic waste remained a shared responsibility.
The GHMC Commissioner urged citizens to actively take part in the e-waste collection drive. He warned that unsafe disposal of electronic waste causes pollution and health problems.
Officials said the drive aimed to ensure scientific disposal of e-waste across the city. They added that citizen participation was crucial for the success of the initiative.
