GHMC announces 90% interest waiver on property tax dues

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation announced a 90 per cent waiver on interest for pending GHMC property tax dues under a one-time settlement scheme valid until March 31.

The civic body said the concession applied to pending property tax arrears for the financial year 2025–26. Officials urged taxpayers to clear outstanding dues before the deadline to benefit from the scheme.

According to the GHMC, the rebate formed part of an OTS initiative aimed at encouraging taxpayers to settle long-pending liabilities. Consequently, property owners could clear arrears while paying significantly reduced interest.

Authorities said the measure would help improve tax compliance across the city. At the same time, it would help the civic body mobilise revenue required for urban development.

The GHMC Commissioner advised property owners to make use of the opportunity before the closing date of March 31.

GHMC property tax dues can be cleared through multiple payment options

Officials said taxpayers could pay their GHMC property tax dues through several digital and physical channels. Property owners could make payments through the official GHMC portal.

Citizens could also use the MyCURE mobile application for online payments. In addition, MeeSeva centres across the city accept property tax payments.

The civic body also enabled payments through Citizen Service Centres. These facilities allow taxpayers to clear pending dues directly at service counters.

GHMC officials encouraged residents to clear outstanding taxes within the deadline. They said timely payment of property tax supports civic infrastructure and urban services.

Authorities further appealed to citizens to contribute to the development of Hyderabad by paying municipal taxes on time.
