GCF expands cancer screening to North-East, signs MoUs with Meghalaya

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Grace Cancer Foundation (GCF) has signed agreements with the Government of Meghalaya to expand cancer screening in North-East India. The move marks a major step in GCF’s national outreach efforts.

The initiative, announced ahead of World Cancer Day, will roll out free screening programmes in Meghalaya and Tripura starting February 2026. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma had urged the Foundation to extend healthcare services to underserved regions, prompting the expansion.

One lakh people to be screened in 2026

Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Founder of GCF, stated that the GCF-WAY model will launch during the 2nd Meghalaya Cancer Conclave in 2026. In 2025, the Foundation screened over 61,000 people and detected more than 1,000 early cancer cases. GCF now aims to screen over one lakh individuals in 2026.

Over the past 12 years, GCF has reached 1.4 crore people across 130 countries. Its entry into the North-East reflects a growing commitment to national and global preventive health.
