Ganesh idol immersion: Cyberabad Police order closure of liquor shops

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have ordered the closure of all toddy and wine shops, including bars in restaurants, from 6 a.m. on September 6 to 6 a.m. on September 7, in view of the final Ganesh idol immersion processions.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty issued the directive under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1974. It will apply across the entire jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Authorities clarified that bars in star hotels and registered clubs can remain operational during this period.

Officials said the restrictions aim to maintain law and order during the large-scale Ganesh idol immersion processions, which attract huge crowds every year in the city.
