Chiranjeevi hails Gaddar Film Awards revival after NTR award

Hyderabad: Actor Chiranjeevi hailed the revival of the Gaddar Film Awards and said the move reflected the government’s focus on cinema’s role in society and economic growth.

He spoke after receiving the NTR National Award from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Gaddar Film Awards 2025 event in Hyderabad. He described the recognition as significant for the film fraternity.

He conveyed his respects to the Chief Minister and credited him for restoring the awards. At the same time, he greeted Deputy Chief Minister Malli Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Jupally Krishna Rao during the event.

At the venue, Chiranjeevi welcomed several film personalities, including Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna, Madhuri Dixit and Jayasudha. He also congratulated awardees such as Naga Chaitanya and Rashmika Mandanna, along with other recipients.

On the occasion of Ugadi, he extended greetings to Telugu people across both states. He also greeted viewers who followed the event.

Gaddar Film Awards highlight cinema’s broader impact

Chiranjeevi said societies that respect artists achieve cultural and economic progress. Therefore, he noted that the awards reflect the government’s awareness of cinema’s wider influence. He added that the industry creates employment and drives social change.

He said Hyderabad and Telangana have emerged as key centres of Indian cinema. In comparison, he placed their growth alongside global industries such as Hollywood. He added that the film industry stands firmly with the government in supporting further development.

Government encouragement, he said, has pushed young filmmakers to pursue meaningful subjects. As a result, such films contribute to the state’s economy.

He commended the jury and organisers for maintaining transparency and dignity. At the same time, he said such platforms honour senior artists while encouraging younger talent.

In closing, he expressed gratitude and congratulated all award winners present at the event.
