Hyderabad: Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Telangana injustice issue was raised in Parliament on Wednesday, as Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna alleged that key promises under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 remained unfulfilled.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he said Telangana continued to face neglect even years after state formation. He warned that Andhra Pradesh’s Banakacherla project could divert nearly 200 TMC of Krishna river water.
He said such diversion could trigger drought conditions in North Telangana. Moreover, he raised concerns over growing disparities in infrastructure and resource allocation between the two states.

Vamsi said Andhra Pradesh had developed multiple airports, while Telangana depended on a single airport. He added that the proposed Peddapalli airport project had not progressed.
Further, he accused the Centre of showing bias in railway funding. He said Andhra Pradesh received large investments, whereas Telangana got only limited projects.
He also flagged concerns over the Polavaram Project. He warned that backwaters from the project could threaten areas such as Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam. Therefore, he demanded immediate flood protection measures.

The MP said several development commitments remained pending in Telangana. He pointed to the stalled Bayyaram steel factory and said industrial growth had suffered due to delays.
In addition, he said the state had not received semiconductor projects or an industrial corridor. He argued that these omissions reflected continued neglect.
He also highlighted a fertiliser shortage at Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited in Ramagundam. He alleged that Telangana farmers were struggling, while Andhra Pradesh farmers faced no such shortage.
The Gaddam Vamsi Telangana injustice argument concluded with a strong warning. He said there would be no compromise on Telangana’s rights. He urged the government to address all pending issues without delay.
